Lumen Spa & Villas is a hospitality complex in Sanur designed around the ritual of rest. Terrazzo pools, jade-green tile, and controlled diffused light define every space.
The design was approached as a sequence of sensory thresholds — moving from arrival to treatment to pool, each space calibrating light, sound, and material to deepen relaxation.
Architectural Story
Lumen required a completely different design approach: a commercial hospitality space that still feels intimate, personal, and crafted. The architecture is organised around the journey of the guest, not the efficiency of the operator.
Jade-green terrazzo lines every pool surround and treatment floor. The colour was chosen for its relationship to the tropical planting — bringing the outside in, dissolving the walls between garden and interior.
Spatial Qualities
The lighting design was as important as the architecture. Each zone operates at a different lux level — arriving in warmth, transitioning to dim treatment rooms, emerging into bright poolside light. Light as a design material.
